Sir Bani Yas is a natural island which is situated 170 kilometres to the Southwest of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. It is basically the biggest natural island that is located in the UAE. It was initially home to the largest wildlife reserve of Arabia. The reserve spans through many kilometres and was established in the year 1977. Ecological investment and conservation work have helped the area to maintain its natural beauty and serve as home to thousands of animals, and millions of plants and trees. It is a popular tourist destination because of the wide variety of activities that people can enjoy.
Jeep Safari Adventure
After leaving the ship, your first encounter with the island will be a small stretch of beach from where, crossing a bridge with your Land Cruiser, you set off on an adventure outing through the beautiful nature reserve that occupies a little more than half of Sir Bani Yas island. By decree of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, hunting is prohibited on Sir Bani Yas and all development work on the island has been carried out with a view to conserving its fragile ecosystem. The late Sheikh was a man both with a vision and on a mission, namely to provide endangered and other animals both local and foreign with a safe haven to roam free and grow their numbers. Enjoy the tour with some photo stops during the itinerary which concludes at the small stretch of beach where you can opt to stay on the island or return to the ship with full memories of a modern-day Noahs Ark full of wonderful creatures you may otherwise never see in such a natural setting. Please note: the driver will provide some basic information in English; this tour is not available to guests with mobility problems or using a wheelchair. Minimum age to take part in this tour: 4. Day 5 (WED) Bahrain (8 am arrival / 6 pm departure)
Bahrain
The Bahrain Island is also popularly known as al-Awal Island. It was formerly referred to as Bahrein. It is the biggest island in the Bahrain archipelago and is popular among travelers. Bahrain has been an immensely important commercial crossroads of the Gulf. It has been a major trade center that has helped link the west and the east. In Arabic, the word Bahrain means two seas. The meaning shows how the geographical position of Bahrain as a collection of islands has been important throughout the history of the country. Bahrain Island occupies a large fraction of the land mass of Bahrain and hosts the majority of the population. The Gulf of Bahrain which is an inlet of the Persian Gulf surrounds most of the island.
The Royal Golf Club
The Royal Golf Club is home to Bahrain's only 18 hole championship standard golf course and to a par 3 9-hole course, both designed by course architect and golfing legend Colin Montgomerie. The Club is managed by Troon, the leader in upscale golf course management, development and marketing, and was named Troon's 2013 Facility of the Year, the company's top accolade. Additional facilities at the Royal Golf Club include award winning restaurants, a golf academy with full practice facilities, a golf & leisure shop, meeting and conference rooms and a country club.
Day 6 Doha, Qatar (8 am arrival / 6 pm departure )
Doha
Doha is the current capital city of Qatar, also officially known as the State of Qatar. Qatar is located in Southwest Asia in the Qatar peninsula. It is surrounded by the Persian Gulf and shares only one land border to the South with Saudi Arabia. Doha has an estimated population of roughly 956,460 people, which makes it the most populated city of Qatar, as that figure accounts for around 40% of the country's total population. The city lies in the Eastern part of Qatar on the coast of the Persian Gulf. Doha was founded in the early 19th century, but was later declared as Qatar's capital in the year 1971 when the country gained independence. The weather in Doha is tropic, characterized by hot Summers from May through October.
Doha Golf Club
Doha Golf Club boasts an 18 hole Championship Course, a 9 hole Academy Course, an enormous driving range and putting green, 8 artificial lakes, graceful landscaping and a beautiful clubhouse designed in old traditional Arabic style, which has been located at one of the highest points on the course giving it a magnificent prominence.
The Championship Course is a tough course from the back tees and offers many strategic and heroic holes where the scratch golfer can test his skills. The course has been designed with two starting and finishing holes which maximises playing flexibility and the number of daily rounds. The unusual 150 hectare site has been enhanced by emphasizing the natural attributes and features. We have created lakes which will double as obstacles and aesthetic features. We have planted about 5000 shrubs, 6000 trees, 10 000 cacti imported from Arizona which will emphasize the nature of the rugged surroundings.
The Academy Course is less demanding and can be played by beginners, ladies and those who want to play a quick nine holes. The fairways are larger, the holes are shorter with less hazards and generally the course will allow the not-so proficient golfer to enjoy the game and the good golfer will have the opportunity to have an enjoyable round during a short break from the office.
Day 7 Dubai, U Arab Emirate (9 am arrival / )
Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club
Dominating Dubai's enchanting waterfront, the Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club overlooks the Creek and Marina. Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club opened in January 1993 to world acclaim and since then it has been host to numerous tournaments and events, including the Dubai Desert Classic on two occasions. The course record of 63 is jointly held by Lee Westwood and Darren Clarke.
A round of golf at the sporting oasis in the heart of the city has a distinct aura of a delightful journey across the fabled landscape of Dubai, a city that thrives in all seasons. Well-groomed fairways lined with date palms and coconut trees, attractive water hazards and shrubbery lends a tropical air to the Club's 18-hole, par-71 championship course that rolls into thousands of undulating yards.
The majestic Clubhouse - its design mirroring the sails of the traditional Arab dhow - has been one of the most photographed landmarks since it opened in 1993, capturing the essence of Dubai's seafaring traditions and presenting the perfect fusion of heritage with modernity and style.
Dune Safari
Treat yourself to the thrill of a lifetime on our Desert Dune Adventure. An exciting rollercoaster ride over Arabias golden sand dunes awaits you and all from the comfort of a modern four-wheel drive vehicle. This tranquil spot is not just perfect for relaxing amid majestic sand dunes, but also for having a go at sand-skiing or camel riding. Please note: the driver will provide information in English. Please wear casual clothing and comfortable walking shoes.
